Oops, That Didn't Quite Work Out

I tweaked my back 😫

And while normally when this happens (every 5 years or so) I rest for a few days, recover and come back fine, I would usually give myself crap for “doing nothing” while recovering.

Ever do that to yourself?

You’re sick or injured, and instead of giving yourself permission to rest and recover, you actually fight yourself subconsciously and give yourself trouble for not being productive?

Yeah, so psychology says that actually slows your recovery and can make  it worse - you’re making your brain its own enemy and creating a stress response in your body as it tries to heal.

Stress does not equal healing.

I have a bunch of posts for you, but they will need to wait a few days until I can sit properly at my desk to edit and post them.

Until then, a lesson I am teaching myself is to let myself rest without giving myself crap about it.

It’s not something that comes easily to me, and I know many of you have a hard time with this as well.

I invite you to learn with me.

Deep breath in - deep breath out.

Repeat after me: “I am worth resting. I am allowed to take time to heal”

Take it easy, friend, you are worthy as you are ♥️
